Classwork

Wow!!! Watching the Solar Eclipse was not only fun, but a time in history that we won't forget. The kids thought it was pretty COOL!!!!!!

Reading: Today we started our first class novel, Number the Stars.

I am hoping to start with Literature Circles next week. We will do all of the jobs together as a class before students are set out to complete them independently.

Writing: We had a great time writing in our Science notebooks. We followed the eclipse and journaled what exactly we were seeing and the changes that occurred as time passed

Math: Lesson 1.2 Area of a Rectangle part 1


Social Studies: Completed our US Maps.

Reading: 20 Minutes of silent reading

Wow!!! What a great start to the new year! We were busy with routines, procedures and of course school work.

Reading: Time for Kids. Ask you student about some of the interesting articles they read.

Writing: We completed our first Opinion piece. Today's topic, "Is It Fair To Keep Wild Animals Captive?"

Math: Math Facts and some addition and subtraction. We will start with lesson 1.2 on Monday

Reading- “A Fiery Flow” ** We will be doing a shorter version of weekly work this week due to PARCC Testing.  
Writing-This week we will do a little creative writing before spring break.  
 
Reading- Free Choice!  Please be sure to have a book to read.  Literature Circles will resume after break.

Writing- We will complete our “Fancy Folders” this week.  Each folder will have numerous writing components in it.  
Math- Unit 10 Balancing Equations.
