Classwork	Reading- Paired-Text Reading- “Abraham” and “The Chicken Pen” TFK- “Shake the Salt Habit” Completed questions with EBTerms. Writing- We are in the “editing” and “revising” section of our opinion papers.  I am very impressed with 5th grade writing, that is taking place in our classroom.   Reading- Literature Circle- New titles have been handed out. We will have literature circles this Friday.  Please be sure to check in with your child, just some simple questions about their novels.  We are reading some amazing titles. Math- Unit 9- Coordinates, Area, Volume and Capacity

Classwork	Reading- Paired-Text Reading- “Worldwide Loss of Bees a Growing Concern” and “The American Chestnut” Completed questions with EBTerms. Writing- Gathering information from articles to support my opinion. Begin writing introductory paragraph. Creative Writing- Many students are working on various writing  topics.  We will share some of them at conferences! =) Reading- Literature Circle- NO Literature Circles this week.  We will resume and get new titles next Tuesday. Math- Study Guide Unit 8 Valentine’s Day Celebration!
