Classwork

Reading-This week we are going to focus on some CLOSE Reading responses using; CLAIM- A statement about the results of an investigation.
EVIDENCE-This includes a direct quote, text evidence or any other proof that you may have found to support your claim. This includes the use of EBT.
REASONING-Explain in your own words how your evidence proves your claim is correct.   
Class Read- Hatchet by Gary Paulsen- We will work on Depth of Complexity literature circle jobs as a whole class.  We came across a few areas in our first novel that need to be re-taught or clarified.

Read Aloud- A Week in the Woods by Andrew Clements

Writing- Informational Writing- Elements of an Informational Piece

Math-Math Exemplar  A Fence for Gretchie and Ashby  This was definitely a challenge for the whole class.  I love walking around and listen to the chatter of mathematical strategies.
Social Studies-YAT “The Story of Money” We had table challenges to see how many ways to make a dollar using coins.  The winning team came up with 43.  There are 293 way to change a dollar.
Homework
