Today we discussed how using sensory details make our stories better.      Math-1.6 Exploring Non Standard Volume Units   Book Buddies- Today we met our Book Buddies.  We are budding up with Mrs Pries again this year.  This is very exciting for our fifth graders.  Be sure to ask your child about their buddy.

Classwork	Wow!!! Watching the Solar Eclipse was not only fun, but a time in history that we won't forget. The kids thought it was pretty COOL!!!!!! Reading: Today we started our first class novel, Number the Stars. I am hoping to start with Literature Circles next week. We will do all of the jobs together as a class before students are set out to complete them independently. Writing: We had a great time writing in our Science notebooks. We followed the eclipse and journaled what exactly we were seeing and the changes that occurred as time passed Math: Lesson 1.2 Area of a Rectangle part 1 Social Studies: Completed our US Maps.
Homework	Reading: 20 Minutes of silent reading Math: Study Link 1.2
